Preserving Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing in Oakland

Oakland Affordable Homes is committed to keeping quality housing accessible for the residents and families who make our city thrive.

Our Mission

We are a mission-driven housing operator dedicated to preserving naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) throughout Oakland. In a market where rising rents continue to displace long-time residents, we believe that protecting existing affordable units is one of the most effective ways to maintain community stability.

Our approach is simple: acquire well-located buildings, invest in their upkeep, and keep them affordable. We measure success not just in occupancy, but in the well-being of our residents and the strength of the neighborhoods we serve.

We currently steward five residential buildings across Oakland, each providing high-quality, affordable homes to local residents:

Our Commitment

Affordability

We are dedicated to maintaining rents that working families and individuals in Oakland can sustain over the long term.

Quality

Affordable should never mean substandard. We invest in ongoing maintenance, safety, and improvements so our residents are proud to call our buildings home.

Community

We work alongside residents, neighbors, and the City of Oakland to support stable, healthy, and inclusive neighborhoods.

Stewardship

We view ourselves as long-term stewards of these properties, not short-term investors. Preservation is our purpose.
